Piret Jamnes, a partner of Fontes, was named Volunteer of the Year 2009.

"Piret Jamnes launched the training and development programme for the executives of these organisations that the Good Deed Foundation is supporting. Such an executive development programme is a new phenomenon in Estonia since it will bring together the initiators of civic societies and executives and mentors with long-term business experience. The programme’s one-year objective is to raise the capacity of initiators in three areas: business thinking, operational organisation of work and leading people. The activity of Piret Jamnes clearly shows that apart from one’s day job, everyone can also put their professional skills to good use as volunteers.“
(Jaan Aps, Good Deed Foundation)

The tradition of the Volunteer of the Year Award was started in 2005 and the event’s patron is the President of the Republic. The list of fifteen people recognised in 2009 included the Fontes partner.

This is a nice summary of our three-year co-operation with the Good Deed Foundation.

At the beginning of 2009, the volunteer activity of Fontes was recognised by the Estonian Association of Not-for-profit Associations and Foundation and at the end of the year the Development Centre of Volunteer Activity together with the President of Estonia recognised Piret Jamnes.

We are sincerely happy that we have helped to make the world a better place :)
