Compensation surveys

Compensation surveys are management information that help executives to determine the salaries that the company’s employees will be paid. The survey is based on salary data of Estonia’s leading businesses and is published once a year. Fontes has been preparing compensation surveys in Estonia since 1995 and collects salary data from about 200 businesses and 30,000 jobs.

Information obtained from compensation surveys is an important input for companies that conduct annual review of salaries. The survey analyses cash remuneration, i.e. basic salary, performance-related fees, and bonuses. In addition, it includes benefits and supplementary training that companies offer their employees. Participation in the survey will give the executive a detailed overview of the company’s position on the salary market and creates possibilities for additional analysis.

The Estonian Compensation Survey covers all the main economic sectors and job positions and is a comprehensive annual overview of what is happening on the Estonian salary market. The survey includes detailed information about the salary levels and components of various job positions. It also includes a forecast on the next period’s salary dynamics and an overview of issues related to the general salary policy. In addition to the main survey, there is also a forecast survey that is published at the beginning of the year, which gives a specified forecast for the salary dynamics of the upcoming period.

The Estonian Top Executive Compensation Survey is an overview of the remuneration of management board chairmen and members. The survey provides an insight into salary levels and components of compensation packages used for the remuneration of various executives.

Sectoral compensation surveys are based on the salary data of a specific economic sector or companies operating in this field of business. Its objective is to compare salary levels of equivalent work in the benchmark group. A sectoral survey gives organisations much more detailed information about the remuneration of employees in the given economic sector or employee field.

Special analysis is based on a handpicked benchmark group or is prepared for one specific business field.
