Assessment methods

For assessment, Fontes uses scientific assessment instruments developed by SHL Group. SHL is a global consultancy that was founded in UK in 1997 and has offices in more than 40 countries. Fontes is the official representative and distributor of SHL in the Baltic states. Assessment methods are chosen according to the assessment objective and skills of the person who is being assessed.

Numeric and verbal reasoning tests - for measuring numeric and verbal abilities.

Occupational personality questionnaire (OPQ32i) - describes the most typical behaviours of the respondent in work-related situations through 32 different dimensions that are classified into three groups: interpersonal relations, mindset, and emotions.

Work-orientated interview - interview that focuses on the applicant’s life, education, and previous work experience.

Motivational interview – interview that aims to determine why the candidate applied for the position and what motivates him or her.

Focused interview - determines whether the applicant has the competencies that the position requires.

Role-play - a task with brief preparation that requires the use of skills that the position requires. Role-plays can be filmed and recordings can be analysed later with the consultant.

Co-operation task - a task conducted as a group discussion where members of the group must reach a joint decision at the end of the task. It is possible to use tasks of varying complexity depending on the management level of the person who is being assessed.

Strategic In-tray - a task that enables for assessing the skills required to be an executive such as setting priorities, planning, decision-making, business analysis, and written and/or oral self-expression. It is possible to use tasks with varying degrees of complexity, depending on the management level of the person who is being assessed.

Mini-360º feedback – enables, in a structured form, to obtain feedback about the work-related behaviour of the employee from his or her supervisor, subordinates, colleagues, or other people with knowledge about the person in question.

Background interviews – interview of two former employers/colleagues of the applicant.
