Assessment of development potential

  • What to develop and how? It is useful to conduct the assessment before preparing a development programme of key persons or a general training plan of the company to ensure the most efficient return for human effort and investments.
  • Can we manage with these people that we have? It is very useful to assess the group of key persons together in order to get a neutral overview of the skills and potential of the people who are the most important for the company. Such assessment helps to understand whether the company has enough top-level people, whether there is an adequate or excess skill-level, etc., and it facilitates making critical decisions and decisions that address future needs.
  • In evaluating development potential, we use the assessment-development centre that in its structure is similar to the assessment centre, but places a greater focus on giving feedback and reaching agreement on critical skills that need to be developed.
  • If the objective of assessment is development, the talent that is being assessed will already receive feedback in the course of the assessment, for instance, about how he or she did in role game (video feedback) or solved the management task. Feedback given in the course of the assessment is a future-orientated counselling discussion, which also covers the life plans, career choices, or the key management problems of the person who is being assessed.
  • Both the employee that is being assessed and his or her supervisor will receive detailed feedback.
