Ergo Tars
Mentor for Digital Transformation and Systemic Management
I support leaders and experts in making informed decisions during times of change and in taking action—always in a way that delivers results while safeguarding people.
As a mentor
I am an empathetic, inclusive, and attentive partner. I create space for reflection while maintaining focus and accountability and minimising distractions. I don’t offer ready-made solutions or dictate decisions; instead, I help my mentees think for themselves, make their own decisions, and succeed. I bring honest reflection, new perspectives, and constructive challenges to our conversations, helping you recognise the patterns and blind spots that hinder your progress.
Experience
My approach combines people management with a systemic perspective—I always consider the big picture: people, processes, and technology. Over the past five years, I have significantly transformed public sector IT by establishing and leading the State IT Centre (RIT) and integrating technology, organisational culture, and people development. My portfolio of experience includes large-scale projects that transformed culture and technology at Telia, Eesti Energia, and public sector institutions: consolidating and deconsolidating organisations and functions, as well as transforming and standardising work practices.
I have been actively serving as a mentor since 2024, when I launched the mentoring programme at RIT. I am also a driving force behind leadership development programs and the leadership club, because I believe that a culture of mutual respect does not arise on its own.
Who a Mentor Works Best With
Collaboration works well with someone who is willing to take responsibility for themselves, explore the blind spots in their decisions and choices, and honestly articulate their questions. I value independent thinking, substantive dialogue, and a willingness to move from discussion to action.
What a mentee gains from the collaboration
A mentee gains clarity about their next choices and priorities, a systematic view of their situation and the impact of their decisions, and support in implementing strategic ideas. This collaboration helps build the courage to make difficult or uncomfortable decisions and offers honest feedback and constructive challenges to ensure that development translates into real action.
